MU IRUN LAB

Our challenge is to prepare and design the new spaces that will host LEINN and MyGADE, university degrees of Mondragón university, at Palmera Montero Civic Center, Irún. Spaces that will enhance the students’ learning experience, and not only in the classrooms but also in those spaces where “non-academic” learning happens and where “things happen”: corridors, meeting points, reading points, etc.
Our inspiraction, Constant Nieuwenhuis’s “New Babylon: city for another Life” and how he imagined the ideal society and urban space to design the key principles that will lead architectural performance:
>SPACE is the direct reflection of the SPACE BRAND, its seduction. It is a live creator of HOME, for foreigners and locals, whose heart resides in the DINING ROOM, where things happen, from whic COMMUNITY is created, a great family is created.
“The human being can only be realized and reach its highest existential level as a creator and nothing more than creator”
> It is a life of SYNERGIES, it is a catalyst of IDENTITIES in which each user has the feeling of apropiating the space and make it his own: as a space for REST, where to stop; As a space for READING and SILENCE; As a space for LEISURE; As a space to PROTOTYPE, where you can lose the fear of the “manual” and to gain respect for the “artisan”. It is CLOSURE AND OPENING, strenghthens learning in all its dimensions.
“Imagination and experience productivity transforms the reality of cities. An urbanism that favors the unforeseeable, the surprise and the desire “
> It is CITY, IN and OUT; captures CONTENT and PROCESSES, crystallizes shared KNOWLEDGE, in the presence and in absence, is the speaker of the COMMUNITY, is a reference of SUSTAINABILITY.
